Cyber threats : Sun Trust Bank gets foreign certifications

Lagos, April 19, 2018 (NAN) The Sun Trust Bank Nigeria has been granted two certifications by the Evaluation and Certification Board (PECB), Canada, a certification body and leading organization in audit management, system and processes.
Mr Raymond Onomerike, the Corporate Services Executive of the bank, said in Lagos on Thursday that the certifications which were secured on April 19 were in recognition of the bank’s efforts in securing its system particularly customers’data against cyber threats and hacking.
“The certifications are in line with our ethos of securing our systems against cyber threats and a proof of our commitment to provide maximum protection for our clients’ data,’’ he said.
The certifications are Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCIDSS) by Digital Jewels and Information Security Management Systems for best practice standards for information security.
“The focus is on IT governance, risk and compliance and deep competencies in information security, assurance, project management and e-business among others.
“It provides a set of standardised requirements for an information security management system …PCIDSS compliance is essential to any organization that processes, stores, and transports payment cards,’’ Onomerike said in a statement. (NAN)
