Port Harcourt, April 12, 2018 (NAN) Chief Precious Elekima, Rivers Coordinator of the Coalition for Nigeria Movement, says the group will provide credible leadership for Nigerians in 2019.

Elekima told newsmen in Port Harcourt on Thursday that the group had already started the process to be registered as a political party and contest the 2019 general elections.

He said the group had done necessary arrangements to be registered as a political party with the intent to contest for positions in the 2019 general elections.

“The intention of the coalition was to collate like minds and put in place a movement toward taking power and giving power to people that will make Nigeria a prosperous nation.

“We will have people that can govern and give our people a sense of belonging,’’ he said.

According to Elekima, the group will put in place community governance for sustainable development of Rivers.

“The coalition will promote community governance in Rivers. All resources accruable to the state will be distributed equally to the various wards and communities.

“Community governance will ensure that all communities and wards do things for themselves.

“So, anything that can eliminate any sense of injustice or sense of elimination is to allow the people do things for themselves,’’ he said.

Elekima, who is also a former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers, said there was so much poverty in the state, and as such, the people were yearning for a change.

He said the coalition would provide dividends of democracy to Nigerians if “embraced for the 2019 general elections’’. (NAN)
