Air Namibia to begin flight on Windhoek-Lagos-Accra route June 29

Lagos, April 9, 2018 (NAN) Air Namibia, the national airline of the Republic of Namibia, will on June 29 begin scheduled flight operations from Windhoek to Lagos and Accra in Ghana.

The airline made the announcement in a statement signed by its media consultant in Nigeria, Mr Mohammed Abdullahi, on Monday in Lagos.

Abdullahi said the new Windhoek-Lagos-Accra route would provide a direct and convenient service connecting Namibia to the two West African countries.

“The four times weekly operation (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Windhoek) will provide smooth and convenient connections inbound and outbound to the airline’s regional flights.

“It will thus be connecting West Africa via Windhoek to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Luanda, Harare, Lusaka, Vic Falls, Gaborone Walvis Bay and Durban.”

He said consequently, the airline had appointed APG Network, one of the world’s leading network for airline distribution and financial services, as the General Sales and Services Agent (GSSA) for Nigeria and Ghana.

“Namibia and APG Network are pleased to announce the new partnership entered into effective March 2018. The partnership entails Air Namibia having appointed APG Network as GSSA in Ghana and Nigeria.

“In accordance with the GSSA agreement entered into, APG Network will provide full sales and marketing services, as well as call centre and customer care services on behalf of Air Namibia in the two countries,” he said.

The statement also quoted Ms Juanita Klassen – Manager for GSA and Offline markets at Air Namibia, as saying that the airline was positioned to making its West African operations a success. (NAN).
