Chairman of council in the state, Aliyu Baita, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse that six persons out of the 29 were promoted to grade I cadre.

He said that 11 others were promoted to grade II, while 12 amateurs, known as “referees-in-training’’ were promoted to grade III.

According to him, referees from the state have since 2007 been passing the NRA promotion examination without hitches.

He urged the promoted referees to be fair and just while officiating in matches in the state and beyond.

He said that the referees would be deployed to officiate in local league matches and cautioned that the council would not tolerate any act of indiscipline.

Baita commended the Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim, for his contributions toward the development of sports in the state. (NAN)
