Abuja, March 8, 2018(NAN)The Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, said on Thursday that the ministry would partner with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) to ensure effective professionalism.

Amaechi said this when he received a delegation of the institute who paid him a courtesy visit to intimate him about the forthcoming two-day Africa Forum Conference.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the conference with the theme “Effective Professionalism in Transport” is scheduled to hold from March 14 to March 16 in Abuja.

He explained the ministry’s financial support to the institute toward the hosting of the conference would be subject to the availability of fund.

Earlier, Mr Ibrahim Jibril, the National President of CILT, said the visit was to get the support of the ministry for conference which is an annual event.

According to him, the forum brings together member-countries together to discuss and share experiences on capacity building.

He observed that the continent lacked managerial and financial capacity, which are the key areas of focus at the conference.

“Africa Forum tries to bring member-countries together under one roof to discuss issues disturbing Africa.

“Twelve African countries will be participating and sharing experiences.

“African continent in some areas lacks managerial capacity and of course where we have managerial capacity, we lack the financial muscle to execute government programmes in transport.

He said that the conference would provide the platform to sensitise people on how they could network, identify areas that could be utilised to build human and financial capacity.

Jibril, however, thanked the Minister for his support and partnership toward a successful hosting of  the event.(NAN)
