Maraba (Nasarawa State), Feb. 27, 2018 (NAN) The Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), a local security outfit, said it had found an 8-year-old boy, Mgande Fidelis who got missing on Feb. 23.
Mr Bako Yunusa, the Commander Sabon Gari Unit of VGN in Keffi, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Mararaba.
According to him, the organisation has handed the boy to his parents in Mararaba, Nasarawa State.
“I was on patrol during the rain which lasted for hours. I saw a boy under the heavy rain on the road, shivering.
“I interrogated him and discovered that he hails from Mararaba which is about 50 kilometres from Keffi.
“I changed his clothes, fed and sheltered him; I brought him to our Karu Unit Command in Mararaba and handed him over to our Unit Commander, Mr Apeh Isaiah,’’ he said.
Isaiah also told NAN the VGN handed the boy over to his parents after due investigation, adding that the case was reported at the Wazobia Police Station, Abacha Road, Mararaba.
Mr Mgande Kenneth, the father of the boy and a security man with Ronkus International School, Mararaba, who spoke with NAN, thanked God, VGN and everyone who showed concern about his missing son.
“ I never believe what happened can happen to me. The boy left for Keffi to attend a church programme.
“He boarded the church’s bus to Keffi but could not use the same vehicle to come back to Mararaba as he got stranded in Keffi.
“I am very much grateful to God and VGN. I never believe the VGN could bring back my son to me,’’ he said.
Also in an interview with NAN in Mararaba, Fidelis said he was happy to be back home.
Mgande Fidelis is a primary three pupil of Ronkus International School, Mararaba.
