Board member promises discovering of more talents in sitting volleyball

Abuja, Feb. 19, 2018 (NAN) A board member of the Nigeria Sitting Volleyball Federation, Victoria Nlemigbo, has promised to make input toward the federation’s efforts to discover more talents and make them self-reliant.

Nlemigbo told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday that serving in the board was an opportunity for her to give helping hands to the group of special persons.

‘’I have the passion to take the group off the street, particularly the women; I am determined to use any opportunity that comes my way.

“Anytime opportunity like this comes my way, I am always happy about it, as it keeps hope alive.

“This opportunity provides a special challenge and I am not going to back out from it because it is one area that deserves to be given attention.

“I am here to give support with my whole heart, to work and ensure that there is a new age in the sitting volleyball,” she said.

The board member said that the new board would go to all the six geo-political zones in the country to identify talents and give them opportunity to take advantage of the sport.

Nlemigbo said that the federation would ensure that every physically challenged person was taken off the street and removed from all forms of humiliation.

Nlemigbo, who is also the Chairman, Women Development Committee of the FCT said that she would leverage on her position in the board to support the cause of the group to live a meaningful life.

NAN reports that the Ministry of Youths and Sports on Thursday in Abuja, conducted elections into seven Nigeria Para-Sports Federations, including the Sitting Volley Ball Federation.

Other Para Sports Federations where elections also took place are: Para-Soccer, amputee football, Wheelchair Basketball, Para-Athletics, Para-Powerlifting and Para-Swimmining.  (NAN)
