Delta Assembly approves commissioner nominee

Asaba, Feb. 15, 2018 (NAN) The Delta House of Assembly on Thursday screened and confirmed the nomination of Dr Mordi Ononye for appointment as commissioner and member of the State Executive Council.
The confirmation followed a motion by Majority Leader of the Assembly, Mr Tim Owhefere, during plenary.
Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa had on Feb. 8, through a letter to the Assembly, requested the screening and confirmation of the nominee for appointment as commissioner following some changes in his cabinet.
The changes in the cabinet affected the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Chief Dan Okenyi and his Health counterpart, Dr Nicholas Azinge.
Owhefere’s motion, which was seconded by the Chief Whip, Mrs Pat Ajudua, was unanimously adopted by the lawmakers when it was put to voice vote by the Speaker, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori. (NAN)
