Lagos , Feb. 14, 2018 (NAN) Two teenage boys — Ibrahim Kareem and Kayode Isiaka — are to spend the next six months in jail for stealing a motorcycle worth N45,000, an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court handed down the verdict on Wednesday.
Both Kareem and Isiaka, who are 19 years old, had pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
Magistrate Abiodun Abimo sentenced each of them to six months imprisonment without an option of fine for not being remorseful.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Police Sgt. Mike Unah told the court that Kareem and Isiaka committed the offences on Jan. 18 about 1.30 a.m. at No. 20, Orisunbare Ishefun Road, Ayobo, a Lagos suburb.
He said the duo conspired and stole the motorcycle with marked ND 128 QP from a compound where it was parked, property of the complainant, Mr Mkem Okonkwo.
“The duo was caught by the security guard in the area while trying to escape with the motorcycle and handed them over to the police.”
The offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015. (NAN)
