Kafanchan killing: Police vow to arrest fleeing gunmen

Kaduna, Feb. 13. 2018 (NAN) The Police Command in Kaduna State on Tuesday said it had put machinery in place to arrest the fleeing gunmen that killed four people in Kafanchan on Feb. 11.

The Command’s spokesman, ASP Mukhtar Aliyu, gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  in Kaduna.

Aliyu said security operatives had been deployed to fish out the suspects, noting that, “we will not relent until we get them to face the law”.

“There is a joint operation called, “Operation Save Heaven” already in place.

“More operatives have been deployed to the affected area to avert further breach of law and order,” he said.

He said that the situation in the area was calm, adding that the police would not relent until the perpetrators of the crime were arrested.

He appealed to the residents to go about their lawful businesses, assuring that the police remained committed to their constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property.

“We urge the public to always give the security operatives useful information,” the police spokesman said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  reports that on Feb. 11 gunmen killed two males and two females at Bakin Kogi, a village in Jema’a Local Government Area of the state, while tapping palm wine in the farm. (NAN)
