Asaba, Feb. 13 , 2018 (NAN) A 22- year- old man, Mr Vincent John, was on Tuesday arraigned in an Asaba Magistrates’ Court for alleged theft of a motor battery, an air conditioner and a vitafoam mattress.
Prosecutor Lucky Oni, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 14, 2017, at the residence of one Agaga Akpati, No. 101 Ekahtor Sunday St, behind Neros Hotel, Asaba.
“The accused carted away one motor battery, valued at N29, 000; one air conditioner valued at N75,000, and one vitafoam mattress, valued at N6,000, all property of one Mr Agaga Akpati,’’ Oni said.
He said the offence was punishable under Section 390 of the Criminal Code, Cap C21 Vol. 1, Laws of Delta State of Nigeria, 2006.
The accused pleaded not guilty, while Magistrate Okonkwo Akanume granted him bail in the sum of N150, 000, with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Feb. 21 for definite hearing.(NAN)
