Election
Kano, Feb. 10, 2018 (NAN) Alhaji Murtala Sule-Garo, the Kano State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has commended voters for conducting themselves peacefully during the local government elections.
Sule-Garo made the commendation on Saturday while speaking with newsmen shortly after he inspected the election in Garo, Kabo Local Government Area.
“We are happy that there was no report of violence in any part of the 44 local government areas of the state,” he said.
The commissioner, who described the election as peaceful, free and fair, attributed the delay in the arrival of materials to polling centres to late arrival of the plane that brought the materials to Kano.
“The plane that brought the sensitive materials arrived late on Friday night.
“Though, there was delay in the arrival of materials to polling centres, the situation later improved as there was mass turnout of voters,’’ the commissioner said.
He expressed happiness that no violence was recorded in all the local government areas of the state. (NAN)
