Police arraign 2 men for allegedly stealing rods valued at N100, 000

Abuja, Feb. 5, 2018 (NAN) The Police on Monday arraigned two men at a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly stealing iron rods valued at N100, 000.
The defendants- Salisu Isah, 21, and Isah Williams, 25, are standing trial on a three-count charge of joint act, criminal trespass and theft.
The prosecutor, Florence Avhioboh, told the court that Benjamin Nanbut, of Mama Village Garden, opposite Citec Estate, Abuja, reported the matter at the Life Camp Police Station, Abuja on Jan. 28.
“The complainant said on Jan. 26, while he was going round his compound, he arrested the defendants for allegedly stealing his iron rods valued at N100, 000″ he said.
He alleged that during investigation, the Police recovered the rods from the defendants.
The offences contravened Sections 79, 348 and 288 of the Penal Code.
The defendants denied committing the offences, while the judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, granted them bail in the sum of N50, 000 each, with one surety each in like sum.
He adjourned the case until March 21, for hearing. (NAN)
