Lagos, Jan. 26, 2018 (NAN) A 33 year-old-man, Fatai Suleimon, has pleaded guilty before a Federal High Court in Lagos, to trafficking 200grammes of Cannabis Sativa popularly known as `Indian Hemp’.
The accused was charged on one count of drug trafficking by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
After his guilty plea, the prosecutor, Mr Jeremiah Aernan consequently, urged that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending a review of the case.
Justice Mojisola Olatoregun accordingly, ordered a remand of the accused in custody.
She adjourned the case until Feb. 5, for a review of facts and sentence.
In the charge, the prosecution said that the accused committed the offence on Nov. 3, 2017.
Aernan said that the accused was arrested on a tip off in Lagos, and about 200g of the illicit drug was recovered from him.
He said that the accused was then arrested for dealing in the restricted narcotics.
The offences contravene the provisions of sections 11 (c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation, 2004. (NAN)
