Galadima, who is the Agom Adara, made the appeal when members of Southern Kaduna Peace and Reconciliation Committee paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Kachia Local Government Area of the state.

Also at the palace were members of Association of Southern Kaduna People Union (SOKAPU), Jama’a Foundation and Southern Kaduna Muslim Development Association (SAKAMUDA) and Meyetti Allah.
The paramount ruler said the call for peaceful coexistence should always be on the agenda of every discussion by by community leaders.
Galadima added that “those who preach peace
must be honest about it.
“There must not be any hypocrisy about it.
“Leaders must practice what they preach. They should not preach peace in public and promote violence secretly.”
The leader of the Southern Kaduna Peace and Reconciliation Committee, Mr Solomon Musa, told the paramount ruler that the committee was an initiative of “Global Peace Foundation of Nigeria.’’
Musa said the committee held series of consultations with different interest groups in the area such as Miyetti Allah, Jema’a Foundation, Sakamunda, SOKAPU and other ethnic groups affected by conflicts in the area.
He added that “the committee has been discussing frankly and openly with each other and hopes to achieve permanent solution soon.”
He also informed the traditional ruler that there was evidence of appreciable understanding among the communities.
Also, the Northern Coordinators of Global Peace Foundation of Nigeria, Rev. Joseph Hayab and Sheikh Halliru Maraya assured Galadima and the peace committee that the
organisations were determined to promote and foster peace in the areas.
They said the foundations had been preaching peace and building capacity of the people at the grassroots.
“We will not fold our arms and watch our people in the rural area live in perpetual fear and tension due to conflicts,” Hayab said.
Maraya assured that the peace committee would continue to encourage sincere and genuine dialogue among the different groups until permanent peace was achieved in the area. (NAN)
