‎ “Against all odds, this election will be conducted in 389 wards of the state.

” I, therefore, call on all eligible voters in the state to enthusiastically come out to perform their civic duties without hindrances, to elect credible and trustworthy representatives.

“The Local Government system is a critical level of administration that brings the government closer to the people,” he said.

Aregbesola said the State Government had made stringent efforts since 2013 to hold the election, but that the opposition stood as stumbling blocks on the way.

“That, it is holding this time around, is an achievement and an indelible legacy the All Progressives Congress (APC) and my administration will leave behind,” he said.

The governor also urged the participating political parties and their candidates to abide by the rules and guidelines instituted by the electoral umpire.

He said the state electoral commission was ready to conduct free and fair election, adding that the security agencies were also ready to protect lives and property during the election. (NAN)
