Lagos, Jan. 22, 2018 (NAN ) A 25-year-old sales representative, Adegbite Adeola, who allegedly stole his employer’s N436, 700, was on Monday brought before an lkeja Magistrates’ Court.
Adeola, who resides at Onipinla area of Alakuko , a Lagos suburb on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, is facing a charge of stealing.
She, however, entered a plea of `not guilty’.
But Police Prosecutor Unah Mike told the court that the accused committed the offence on Sept. 19, 2017 at No. 64, Nureni Yusuf Complex at Kola in Alagbado, Lagos.
Eruada said the accused, who is an employee of the complainant, Mrs Fadipe Abiodun, was scheduled to deliver cartoons of milk valued at N436, 700 to some customers.
“After the delivery, she collected the money and disappeared into thin air.
“All efforts to recover the money from her were unsuccessful until and she was later arrested by the police,” the prosecutor told the court.
The offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 which stipulates a seven-year jail term for offenders.
The Magistrate, Mr A. A. Fashola, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until Jan. 31 for further hearing. (NAN)
