Ilorin, Jan.17, 2018 (NAN) Mr Kunle Aderemi, the Proprietor of Great Foundation Nursery and Primary School, Olunlade, Ilorin, has advised parents to teach their children moral values at home.

Aderemi gave the advice in Ilorin on Wednesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said most parents expected school teachers to instil in their children moral principles and expose them to good societal beliefs.

According to him, parents must lay the foundation of moral discipline on their children before teachers can guide them properly.

The proprietor said ethics was lacking in the present society because parents had left everything for teachers.

‘‘Charity begins at home. So parents have a lot to do in the life of their children.

‘‘Parents are expected to be the best teachers as everything starts under their supervision right from home.

‘‘Teach your children how to dress decently, how to eat and how to approach people they come across.

‘‘Teach them manner and how to respect their elders as required in our rich African culture.

‘‘Everything starts with you. As a parent, it is expected of you to understand your children better than any teacher.

‘‘Try and guide your children right and stop relying on teachers to shape their life for you.

‘‘Mind you, teachers are not robot that can do everything. Start first and let them complete the task for you,” he said.

Aderemi, however, urged parents to be exemplary role models to their children by behaving well at all times. (NAN)
