Bwari (FCT) Jan. 16, 2018 (NAN) Bwari Area Council on Tuesday in Abuja donated 50 chairs and desks, as well as dozens of exercise books to LEA Nomadic Primary School, Tudun Fulani, a community in the district.
The Chairman of the Council, Mr Musa Dikko, while making the donation, said that the council would ensure that provisions were put in place to expand the gesture to other schools within the community.
This, he noted, was to motivate both staff and pupils of the schools to do the needful, while also encouraging other stakeholders to promote child education at the grassroots.
He also said that the council would give more assistance where necessary, especially on the school environment, in order to make it conducive for learning.
Mr Mohammed Jimada, Head Teacher of the school, while receiving the donations, appreciated the efforts of the council.
He said that the gesture was timely and would go a long way to assist the pupils who had just resumed for the term.
He, however, appealed to the council to help the school in reconstructing the school’s fence, which he said had consistently fallen down due to heavy rainfall.
“We have tried severally, in our own way to rebuild it but it keeps falling down once during rainy season; maybe because it is old and needs to be reconstructed.
“If we must ask for more, this is what we would want the council to do for us,’’ he said.
