Enugu, Jan. 4, 2018 (NAN) Hair stylists are still enjoying high patronage even after the Christmas and New Year celebrations in Enugu metropolis, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
A check by a NAN correspondent, who spoke to some hair stylists on Thursday, observed that the high demand for new hair styles for resumption of work, had led to the high patronage of their customers.
Mrs Uzoma Madu, a salon owner at Agbani Road, noted that the high demand of their services was due to her customers’ choices for new look, as work resumed.
Madu, who had been fixing artificial hair for women and ladies after the festive period, said that the number kept increasing till now even at a higher price.
According to her, fixing a normal hair style like all back, half pate and centre pate go for N1,200 as against N800 previously, while other styles attract between N1,800 and N2,000.
Mrs Ekwutosi Agu, a hair braider at Uwani, said that she had been busy braiding her customers’ hair even after the Yuletide, to enable them to look beautiful and gorgeous at their various businesses and offices.
Agu, who said that the period had enriched her seriously, noted that she would not have problem settling her children’s school fees later in the month because she made much gain and still making it up till now.
She said that to braid the Bob Marley style, without combining colours of artificial hair, now goes for N2,500, while the combined style is between N3,500 and N5,000, depending on the number of combination of the artificial hair.
Another stylist at Achara Layout, Mr Mark Ugonna, said he was happy and prayed to God for continued patronage.
“I pray that God continues to bless me with the kind of business I am getting since Christmas celebration season till now.
“At least, I have got my house and shop rent money from this patronage, and I hope it will continue,’’ he said. (NAN)
