Accountant

Abuja, Dec. 20, 2018 (NAN) A 36-year-old accountant, Gbenga Oladayo, who the police accused of using none existing names on the payroll of Total Facilities Management Limited, to defraud the company of N1. 2 million, on Thursday appeared in a Karmo Grade I Area Court, Abuja.
Oladayo, is charged with criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The Prosecutor, Ijeoma Ukagha told the court that the facility manager at Total Facilities Management Limited, Jabi Abuja Etim Joseph reported the matter at the Life Camp Police Station, Abuja, on Dec. 12.
He alleged that the defendant included names of unknown staff when he was ashed to prepare staff payroll.
Ukagha said during police investigation, the defendant confessed to the crime,saying that he did it out of annoyance due to a cut in his monthly salar.
The prosecutor said that the offence, contravened the provisions of sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code.
Oladayo, who resides at Mpape, Abuja, pleaded not guilty.
The Area Court judge, Alhaji Inuwa Maiwada, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N1.2 million with one surety in like sum.
Maiwada ordered that the surety must produce a copy of a valid means of identification, utility bill and adjourned the case until Jan. 29 for hearing. (NAN)
