Zaria (Kaduna State), Dec. 25, 2017 (NAN) Rev. Isaac Gbadero, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Sabongari, Zaria, Kaduna State on Monday tasked Nigerians to purify their hearts towards a crime-free nation.
He stated this in a message to Christians to commemorate the 2017 Christmas day celebration in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Gbadero said the call became imperative in view of the prevailing challenges bedeviling the entire country.
He said: “The incessant cases of kidnapping, armed robbery and other social vices in Nigeria emanated from disease of the heart due to get-rich-quick syndrome.
The Clergy advised those engaged in kidnapping to desist from it and have the fear of God Almighty, adding that they should bear in their mind that one day they would give account of what they do.
He charged them to look for other better ways to make money other than kidnapping, saying, “above all, the dirty business is not a good thing at all.”
According to him, Jesus is hope to the hopeless world, who had come to bring peace, joy and open the door of prison for those who have been in prison.
Taking his text from the Book of Luke chapter 4 verse 18, Gbadero said Jesus Christ himself spoke that “he has been anointed above any other.”
“Jesus has come to bring peace, joy and open the door of prison for those who have been in prison, break yolks and deliver without looking at tribe, race, sex or anything.”
He called on government to be sincere in its approach to all issues including security as it was the only path to actualizing positive change. (NAN)
