Teenager

Lagos, Dec. 20, 2017 (NAN) Ugochukwu Onyekwere,40, who allegedly detained a teenager with the intent to forcefully have sex with her, was on Wednesday docked at an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The accused is s facing a two-count charge for unlawful assault and unlawful detain.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Omisakin told the court that the accused had committed the offences at No. 21, Savage Lane, Orile-Iganmu, Lagos State at about 10 p.m. on Dec. 18.
She alleged that the accused had unlawfully detained a 16-year-old girl (names withheld) in his apartment with the intent to forcefully have sexual intercourse with her.
The accused had also assaulted the teenager by slapping her severally when she refused to yield to his demands.
The offences contravened Sections 144 (1) and 172 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Chief Magistrate Tajudeen Elias admitted the accused to a bail of N100,000 with one responsible surety in like sum.
He adjourned further hearing until Jan. 29, 2018. (NAN)
