Ibadan, Dec. 17, 2017(NAN) Rev. Emmanuel Adeniyi, the General Overseer of the Banner of Christ Church, Adegbayi, Ibadan, has called on Nigerians to support the Federal Government’s efforts to build a corrupt-free nation.
Adeniyi, who made the call in his Sunday sermon, noted that corruption traits had been rooted in the mind of the average Nigerian.
He said morality and other societal values which had been the hallmark of the Nigerian society were gradually going into extinction.
According to him, absence of good behaviour, fear of God and love for one another in the society pave way for all forms of ungodly acts.
”The common thing that is threatening the progress of Nigeria as a nation is corruption.
”It is the bane of development in every facet of governance, but we thank God for the present administration that is fighting the menace of corruption.
”That is the reason why every Nigerian should support the present government in its anti corruption crusade.
”Let us have attitudinal change and check ourselves on the need to abstain from any form of corruption.
”Victory over corruption will liberate Nigerians from poverty, poor living standard and poor economy,” the cleric said.
He urged Christians to live a life that would prove to the world that they are Ambassadors of Christ.
He also charged them not to relent in prayers for the success of the present administration.(NAN)
