Abuja, Dec. 5, 2017 (NAN) Mr Kayode Olumoko, Chief Executive Officer of Sound Factory Entertainment (SFE), an Abuja-based record label, says artistes under his management are embarking on a promo tour of Radio stations across the country.
Olumoko told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Tuesday that the tour was meant to promote and showcase the budding artistes most based in Abuja.
“Basically, the radio tour is to showcase to Nigerians and let them feel that SFE in Abuja has what it takes to rule the world in music entertainment,” he said.
According to the Laboratory-Technology graduate turned entertainment guru, music business in the Federal Capital Territory is tough.
“However, it is gaining ground and being appreciated.
“All is set for SFE to embark on ‘Radio Tour’ to Lagos, Kaduna, Port Harcourt and some states in the country to promote artistes under our management.
“We have Jay Tee also known as ‘Chanter’; ‘Sidney’ the Calabash hit maker; and just recently, we signed Victor Velmo, who is also exceptional in the hip hop genre,’’ he said.
Olumoko said that Velmo was the last artiste to be signed and recently unveiled to the public with his single ‘Quietly’ featuring popular Nigerian rapper, Young Six.
He said that other artistes under the Abuja-based record label were equally exceptional with hits to their credit.
“Why I said Velmo was the last signed is because we want to concentrate on all our artistes. They all got talents and ready to take Nigeria by storm.
“So we are set to begin a radio tour across the country to showcase what SFE has for Nigeria.
Velmo, an `On Air Personality’ with Hot FM Abuja told NAN that being an independent artiste was not easy, considering the struggle in the industry.
“When SFE came for me, I was skeptical at first but at the end, we struck a balance concerning the contract and we are good to go.
“I believe in SFE; I am here to put up good music and entertain Nigerians and with God on our side, we will make it,’’ Velmo said (NAN)
