Asaba, Dec. 4, 2017 (NAN) Delta Government has urged contractors and supervisors for the World Bank, European Union Sponsored State Employment and Expenditures for Results (SEEFOR) projects to add value to the infrastructure development of the state by delivering quality jobs.
Dr Kingsley Emu, Commissioner for Economic Planning, gave the advice on Monday in Asaba during an orientation programme organised for the contractors and supervisors.
The commissioner also advised them to be transparent and show high sense of commitment in executing the jobs, adding that anyone of them who failed to meet with job specification would face sanction.
Emu called on them to always furnish their relevant authorities with reports on projects at various stages in order to avoid deliverying substandard jobs.
Earlier, Chief Clement Ofuani, Director-General, Asaba Capital Development Agency, said the state government was committed to delivering quality infrastructure to add remarkable value to the lives of the people in the state.
Also speaking, Mr Benson Ojoko, Project Coordinator, SEEFOR, said SEEFOR engaged the supervisors and contractors to sustain the job creation agenda of the state government.
Ojoko also said the initiative to employ more 3,000 citizens of the state was to create a source of livelihood for them.
He also said that those employed for the job would be creating value to the state through the various tasks they would be carrying out. (NAN)
