Lagos, Nov. 16, 2017 (NAN) A 19-year-old boy, Kabiru Mohammed, who allegedly absconded with some drinks valued at N280,650 was on Thursday charged before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The accused, who is a truck pusher, whose address was not given, is being tried for conspiracy and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Christopher John, told the court that the offences were committed on Oct. 19, at Mosalashi Market, Agege, a suburb of Lagos.
John said that the accused carried some drinks valued at N280,650 for a trader, Eke Emmanuel, at the market.
“When crossing the road with the drinks, the accused took another direction and all efforts to locate him failed.
“Since then, the accused has not been seen, until he was sighted at Agege and arrested,’’ he said.
John added that the accused said his friends, who are now at large, planned it with him.
The offences, according to the Prosecutor, contravene Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs M. I. Dan-Oni, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Dan-Oni adjourned the case until Dec. 4, for mention. (NAN)
