Abuja, Nov. 15, 2017 (NAN) An FCT High Court, Maitama, on Tuesday ordered the remand of three armed robbery suspects, pending the hearing of their bail application.
The defendants – Vitalis Tersee, Soughter Chia and Zaki Daniel, both residents of Mabushi Abuja, were docked  on a five-count charge, bordering on criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and receipt of stolen property.
The judge, Justice Peter Affen, gave the order after the prosecuting counsel, Mr Patrick Ogele, told the court that he needed time to study the process served on him by the defendants’ counsel,

The judge adjourned the case until Nov. 28 for the hearing of the bail application.
“In the interim, the defendants shall be remanded in Kuje Prison pending the hearing and determination of the motion for bail” he said.
Earlier, Ogele had earlier told the court that the defendants committed the alleged offences on March 16.
He said that at about 2 a.m., the defendants conspired and robbed one Emmanuel and Dinah Omebiye in their Lugbe residents, while armed with guns and other dangerous weapons.
He told the court that the defendants on the same day also at Lugbe, robbed one David Opemi and his sister, Siyaka of valuables valued at N 45, 000.
He told the court that the third defendant later bought some of the stolen items from the second defendant.
He told the court that the offences contravened Sections 6 , 1 (a) and (b) and 5 of the Robbery and Firearms Special Provisions Act Cap.R11 Laws of the Federation 2004.
The defendants denied committing the offences.

Ogele opposed the defence counsel, Mr Stanley Oforegbe’s application for their bail, and argued that since he was served the processes on Friday, he needed time to study them to enable him appropriately respond to it. (NAN)
