Immunisation

Shanono (Kano State), Nov. 13 2017 (NAN) Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State targets 29,000 children for measles immunisation, the Primary Health Care Coordinator of the Council, Malam Rabiu Muhammed, says.
He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Shanono, Kano State on Monday that the exercise had commenced in the area on Sunday.
He said the exercised witnessed large turnout as parents brought their wards to be immunised.
Muhammed lauded local government and traditional rulers in the area for mobilising and creating awareness about the immunisation.
He, however, appealed to people in hard-to-reach areas to access the nearest health facilities to get their children immunised.
Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State launched the measles immunisation on Sunday and all local government areas in the state followed suit at various centres.
The government is targeting over two million children between nine months and
five years for the measles immunisation. (NAN)
