NGO sponsors 200 youths for 2017 emerging African leaders conference

Abuja, Nov 13, 2017 (NAN) The Centre for Social Awareness, Advocacy and Ethics, Inc (CSAAEINC), an international non-governmental organisation based in US, has selected 200 Nigerian youths to participate in its 2017 emerging African Leaders conference freely.
CSAAEINC’s President, Dr Godswill Agbagwa, in statement obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday, said the conference was part of efforts to develop new political and government leaders with acceptable morals.
Agbagwa said the participants comprising youths in tertiary institutions and organisations would be inculcated with effective leadership skills and entrepreneurial spirit to facilitate development and end poverty in Africa.
According to Agbagwa, the conference, scheduled to hold on Nov. 25 at the Domus Fidei Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, will kick start the CSAAEINC’s 2017 and 2018 Emerging African Leaders Programme (ELP) training year.
He said the conference would broaden the horizons of emerging leaders, help them set personal and community development goals to tackle specific problems in Nigeria and Africa.
“Following the conference, a cohort of 50 emerging African leaders will be selected to join ELP for a three-year structured ethics, excellence in leadership and entrepreneurship programme.“
“Through a combination of leadership conferences, mid-year leadership portfolio summits, leadership building experiences, one-on-one leadership mentoring.
“Upon completion of the programme, CSAAEINC will evaluate their performance and promotes promising emerging leaders to the centre’s lifetime Network of Effective African Leaders (NEAL),“Agbagwa said.
He said renowned Nigerians selected to speak at the international conference include Dr Olisa Agbakoba, Prof. Pat Utomi and Mr Tony Okpanachi of the Development Bank of Nigeria
He said Agbakoba would speak on the state of the nation to expose the future young leaders to problems and prospects facing them.
Utomi, on his part, Agbagwa explained would discuss the ethical leadership skills required by the future leaders for effective leadership in Africa.
The CSAAEINC President said that Okpanachi would speak on creative leadership to equip the future leaders with effective leadership skills needed to tackle African’s problems.
CSAAEINC is an international non-profit organisation founded to proffer solution to Africa’s leadership failure, loss of moral, social sense and entrepreneurial spirit.
CSAAEINC engages the youths through its Emerging African Leaders Programme (ELP), Career Building and Entrepreneurship Programme (CBEP), Students Ethics and Anti-Corruption Network (SEACON), and Network of Effective African Leaders (NEAL). (NAN)
