Ilorin, Nov. 8, 2017 (NAN) Mr Taiwo Akindele, an officer of the Kwara State Road Traffic Maintenance Agency (KWARTMA), on Wednesday urged youths to be patriotic and willing to offer selfless service to the country.
Akindele, a former volunteer on traffic control at Sabo Oke junction along Offa Road, Ilorin, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that he got employed to KWARTMA through selfless service to the community.
‘‘Working in the force has been my dream for years which made me to start traffic control work voluntarily in 2010 when I did not get a job after graduation.
‘‘So, after four years, I was controlling traffic close to the Ministry of Environment when Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed spotted me and gave me an immediate employment as a Superintendent Officer in the agency.
‘‘What I want to tell youths is to be dedicated and patriotic because one cannot predict where your favour will come from.
‘‘So, if jobs are not forthcoming, they should not just sit down; some selfless services yield positive results,’’ Akindele said. (NAN)
