Lagos, Oct. 25, 2017 (NAN) A 35-year-old man, Rabiu Omotayo, who allegedly stole N360,000 meant for supply of bread to customers, was on Wednesday docked before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

Omotayo, a driver, who resides at Ifako Ijaiye area of Lagos, is being tried for stealing.

The prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, told the court that the offence was committed on Oct. 4 at Agidingbi, Ikeja.

Ogu said that the accused worked with Top Crust Bakery and was asked to distribute bread worth N360, 000 to customers.

“The accused was paid by those customers and instead of him to remit the money into the company’s account, he converted it to his own use,” he said.

Ogu said that the accused was then handed over to the police and charged to court.

He said that the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni, granted the accused N100, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

Akanni adjourned the case until Nov. 27 for mention. (NAN)
