Lagos, Oct. 23, 2017(NAN) A 26-year-old man, Sodiq Lateef, who allegedly broke into a vehicle was on Monday in Lagos arraigned for malicious damage and acting in manner likely to cause breach of the peace.

Lateef of no fixed address is facing trial before an Ebute Meta Magistrates Court in Lagos on two-count charge of willful and unlawful damage and acting in a manner likely to cause breach of the peace.

He, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, ASP Fidelis Dike, said that the accused committed the offences on Oct. 22 at about 1. 00 a.m at No. 20, Olaitan St., Sari-Iganmu, Lagos.

He said that the accused damaged the lock of a Honda car and broke into the vehicle with Lagos registration no. KRD 983 CU belonging to one Mr Ismail Fayemi.

The prosecutor said that the accused broke into the car and concealed himself in a corner thereby causing breach of the peace.

The offences, the prosecutor said, contravened Sections 168(d) and 350 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Salawu, granted the accused N10,000 bail with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned until Nov. 7 for mention. (NAN)
