Lagos, Oct. 20, 2017(NAN) Two men, Sulaimon Abiodun and Shola Ojo, who allegedly defrauded a man of N35,000 on Friday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

Abiodun, 39 and Ojo, 29, with unknown addresses, are facing a three-count charge of fraud, conspiracy and stealing.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Eruada Victor, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Oct. 4 at Gudugba Str., Iju-Ishaga, a suburb of Lagos.

Victor said that the accused conspired and fraudulently obtained N35, 000 from Mr Afolabi Akande on the pretence of averting a death vision they saw for him.

“The duo defrauded Akande of the money and told him that they had averted the death from him and he won’t die again.

“Akande, suspected their action after giving them the money; he noticed that the duo are fake, shouted for help and people around helped him while the duo were apprehended,” he told the court.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 287, 411 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The duo, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate, Mrs G. O. Anifowoshe, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N30, 000, with two sureties each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Oct. 25. (NAN)
