Abuja, Oct. 9, 2017 (NAN) The National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Abuja, on Monday ordered Kotco Energy Limited, to pay Mr Tanko Dauda, its former Branch Manager, all outstanding salaries and leave allowances owed him.
The judge gave the order when he delivered judgment in a suit filed by
Dauda.
The claimant had dragged his former employer to court, seeking payments of all monies short changed him in salaries while in the service of the company.
He further alleged that the company was yet to pay him his contributory pension fund, allowances and accrued benefits after his resignation in 2014.
The court held that the claimant was entitled to his salaries and leave allowances, and ordered the company to pay all monies and entitlements due to the claimant.
The court further ordered the company to pay the claimant N100,000, being the cost of the litigation.
The court, however, dismissed the defendant’s counter claim, wherein it alleged that the claimant, as its manager defrauded it of N751,500.
Reacting to the judgment, counsel to the claimant, Mr Sa’eed Lawal, expressed delight, but wished the court had granted his client’s claim for pension arrears in full. (NAN)
