Lagos, Sept. 26, 2017 (NAN) A 26-year-old woman, Temitayo Onanuga, who allegedly stole a Blackberry Passport 2 phone valued at N170,000, was on Tuesday brought before a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The accused, whose address is unknown, was arraigned on a charge of stealing.
Police Prosecutor Anthonia Osayande told the court that the accused committed the offence sometime in August on Shitta Road Roundabout, Surulere.
According to her, the accused was caught while stealing a Blackberry passport 2 phone valued at N170, 000, property of Mr Oluwanishola Akintelure.
The offence contravened Sections 287 5(a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the offence carries a penalty of three years imprisonment.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and the Magistrate, Mr Aro Lambo, granted her bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.
He said the surety must be gainfully employed with an evidence of tax payment.
The case was adjourned until Oct. 12 for mention. (NAN)
