Lagos, Sept. 14, 2017 (NAN ) A 32-year-old stylist, Adebayo Tade, who allegedly stole his employer’s N323,000, was on
Thursday hauled up before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
Tade, who resides at No. 3, Opeloyeru St., Alakuko, a Lagos suburb, is facing a two-count charge bordering on stealing.
The accused, according to Prosecutor Victor Eruada, committed the offences sometime between October 2016 and September
2017 at salon at Akinremi Street, Anifowoshe, Ikeja.
He said the fraud was discovered when the account of the company was audited.
“The accused failed to remit N323,000 into the company’s account.
“All fingers were pointing at the accused because he was in charge of company’s accounts and other things, ” he told the
court.
The offences contravened Sections 286 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 287 stipulates a three-year jail term for offenders.
The accused pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Mrs A. O. Gbajumo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum and
adjourned the case until Oct. 23 for mention. (NAN)
