Oyo Deputy Gov. counsels theatre arts practitioners on national unity

Ibadan, Aug. 28, 2017(NAN) The Oyo State Deputy Governor, Chief Moses Adeyemo, has called on Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria(TAMPAN) to use its profession to promote moral rebirth and the nation’s unity.

Adeyemo made the call in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Sola Adegoke in Ibadan on Monday.

Adegoke said Adeyemo made the call when he was honoured by TAMPAN, Oyo State Chapter in Ibadan as the `Most Loyal Deputy Governor in Nigeria’.

The deputy governor likened theatre arts to journalism profession which he said was about educating, informing and entertaining as well as moulding lives.

He urged practitioners to live up to their social responsibility by eradicating vulgar movies among its members.

The deputy governor, who commended TAMPAN for the award bestowed on him, urged its members to be loyal, humble and be committed to the cause of association.

Earlier, Rose Odika, the State TAMPAN Governor, explained that the ongoing TAMPAN festival was organised to rejuvenate arts and culture as well as discover young talents in the field.

She solicited the support of the state government toward the sustenance of the various programmes of the association.(NAN)
