Kano,  Aug. 26, 2017 (NAN)  A mobile court under the Kano State Task Force Committee on Sanitation, on Saturday fined Mariri Motor Park in Kano N50,000 for sanitation offence.

Magistrate Auwal Sulaiman said the court found many drivers at the park busy carrying and dropping passengers at the park when the team arrived during sanitation in the area.

Speaking shortly after the monitoring the exercise, the Chairman of the committee and the Commissioner for Environment, Dr Ali Makoda, said citizens must comply with the sanitation days.

He expressed dismay over the attitude of the motor park authorities for allowing drivers to conduct their activities despite knowing about the sanitation.

The commissioner further charged the Police Division in the area to buckle up and monitor the exercise as ordered by the state government.

He warned people to imbibe the sanitation culture and comply, especially at the end of the month for just a few hours.(NAN)
