Abuja,Oct.17,2016 (NAN) The National Industrial Court will hear Lt.-Cdr. Steve Edeh’s case against the Nigerian Navy on Nov.14.
Edeh is challenging his purported termination of appointment by the Nigerian Navy in 2005.
The claimant was allegedly relieved of his duty on the ground of being Away Without Leave, known as AWOL.
The claimant is also praying that his salary and entitlement from September 2005 to August 2011 be paid.
He also prayed the court to compel the Navy to release his international passport and his original certificates which were confiscated by the respondent.
At the resumed hearing for adoption addresses, claimant’s counsel, Mr Kingsley Akporaye-Ayah told the court that he had motion seeking to amend claimant’s statement of claims.
The judge, Justice Babatunde Adejumo, said that the adjournment would enable the Defence counsel, Mr Nenfort Amos, respond to the motion filed by the claimant.
Amos had told the court that he would need time to respond to the amendment made by the claimant’s counsel.
The court had on June 13 adjourned the case till Oct. 17 for the final written addresses by parties.(NAN)
