Call
Omu-Aran (Kwara), Aug. 6, 2017 (NAN) A film producer, Mr Samuel Oluwabunmi, on Sunday called for the establishment of a film village in Kwara as a way of boosting the state’s entertainment industry
He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Omu-Aran that the call was informed by the pivotal role being played by the state in the entertainment industry.
Oluwabunmi, who is the General Manager of Viral Inclusive Productions, said having such vital segment of the entertainment industry in the state was long overdue.
He noted that establishing a film village would go a long way in attracting more artistes and investment to the state’s entertainment industry.
“When you talk of entertainment industry in the country, Kwara is a force to be reckoned with; there is no doubt about that.
“So having a film village in this state is not out of place, in fact it is long overdue.
“I can assure you that such establishment would make the state more attractive to practitioners and investors in the industry,” he said.
Oluwabunmi, who commended the state government’s giant strides in the industry, urged it to step up efforts in order to prevent artistes from being attracted to other states.
The entertainer said the company’s latest film effort entitled, ‘Akeregbe’ (gourd), preaches tolerance and love and would be followed by another entitled, ‘Iku Ile’ (Death at home).
Oluwabunmi noted that although the industry was large enough for potential talents, practitioners needed to be humble and imbibe the virtues of patience and tolerance to achieve the desired fame.
“ We need to allow the world see the virtues we preach in us; our lives should reflect the virtues we are asking the society to emulate.
“I believe strongly that if we are united we can overpower the few bad eggs among us,’’ he said. (NAN)
