Stealing
Asaba, July 21, 2017 (NAN) A 26-year-old man, Christian Amani, was on Friday arraigned at the Asaba Magistrates’ Court in Delta for allegedly stealing a generator.
The generator, valued at N110, 000, belonged to one Gloria Erika.
The Prosecutor, Mrs Maureen Meabisi, told court that the accused committed the offence on Nov. 11, 2016 at No. 26 Osadebey Road, Asaba.
She said that the offence was punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap. C21, Vol. 1 Laws of Delta State, 2006.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N150, 000 with a surety in like sum.
The Magistrate, Mrs Akanume Okonkwo, ordered that the surety must be a civil servant, who should reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
She said that the surety must also have landed property and should deposit two passports with the court.
She adjourned the case until July 26, for hearing. (NAN)
