Don’t lose hope, cleric urges Nigerians

Ibadan, July 16, 2017(NAN) Rev Emmanuel Adeniyi of the Banner of Christ Church, Adegbayi, Ibadan, on Sunday urged Nigerians not to lose hope in the face of economic hardship, but intensify prayers for divine intervention.

Adeniyi  in his sermon at the church, also appealed to the nation’s leaders not to relent in their efforts to fix the  economy, as the poverty rate among Nigerians was too high.

He cautioned the Christian faithful against being enticed with money and materials things, imploring them to remain resolute in serving God despite economic and other challenges facing them.

“This is end-time; Satan and his agents are everywhere to deceive us so as to miss eternity, but we should not fall prey to the deceit of the devil.

“Let us remain resolute to serve God, though living standard is poor; let us be contented with the little available and avoid being trapped,“ he said.

The cleric admonished youths to beware of bad friends to avoid been initiated into all kinds of crime.

According to him, the increase in cult activities is largely due to to peer influence.

He called on mothers to monitor their children keenly, especially the female ones, counsel them always, and inculcate good moral values in them. (NAN)
