Mechanic in court for allegedly stealing motorcycle

Lagos, July 6, 2017(NAN) A 19-year-old mechanic, Felix Ekon, was on Thursday arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.
Ekon, who resides at Alagbado Area of Lagos State, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The prosecutor, Insp. Clement Okuoimose, told the court that Ekon committed the offence on July 1 at 5:00a.m. at AIT, Alagbado, Lagos.
He said that the accused stole a Bajaj motorcycle valued at N60, 000 property of Mr Abdulwasiu Wahab.
Okuoimose said that the accused unlawfully entered the workshop of the complainant.
“The accused destroyed the gate padlocks to gain access into the workshop’s compound to steal.
“He was caught while he was driving out, carrying the motorcycle,” he said.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The Magistrate, Mrs Y.O. Ekogbulu granted the accused N50, 000 bail with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned until July 31 for mention. (NAN)
