Lagos, July 5, 2017 (NAN) The Lagos Business School (LBS) on Wednesday said the institution would continue to provide networking opportunities for Nigeria’s economic growth and development.

Ms Bunmi Afolabi, the LBS’s Alumni Director, who made this known at the Alumni’s dinner in Lagos said the institution would provide continuing education and networking opportunities that would strengthen Nigeria’s economy.

Afolabi said that LBS would continue to help in professional and career development in line with its vision.

Dr Enase Okonedo, the Dean of LBS in her remark, said the school had recorded some high level of achievements which made its certificate more globally accepted.

Okonedo said that the school had gotten two global accreditation from the Association of MBAs and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) since 2016.

She said that the global accreditation made the school to be part of the five per cent of elite schools globally.

Okonedo said that the school maintained its Financial Times (FT) ranking of global business schools for the 11th consecutive year.

She said that LBS was ranked among the most prestigious business schools globally in two categories – Open Enrollment and Customs Executive Education.

The dean said that LBS was one of only four schools in Africa that made the prestigious list.

Okonedo said that FT ranking was in recognition of its continuous efforts at providing world class business and management education with local relevance to Nigeria and Africa.

She said that the school had been admitting more non-Nigerian nationals to its programmes as part of plans to extend the benefit of LBS education to other Africans.

Okonedo said that LBS would be extending its executive education to other African countries in the nearest future.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event was sponsored by corporate organisations such as Globacom, Standard Chartered Bank, Custodian and Allied Insurance, Swift Networks, Emirates, Nestle, and Nigerian Breweries, among others. (NAN)
