Mechanic bags 1 month imprisonment for causing hurt

Abuja, July 5, 2017 (NAN) A Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Wednesday sentenced one Ojo Akinsola, 27, to one month imprisonment for causing grievous hurt.
The judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, however gave the convict N5,000 option of fine and warned him to desist from committing crimes.
Akinsola, a resident of Jabi Motor Park Abuja, was convicted on a count charge.
The convict prayed the court to temper justice with mercy.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Florence Auhioboh, told the court that one Lucky Usman, of Ushafa village, Bwari ,Abuja, reported the matter at the Utako Police Station, Abuja, on June 29.
Auhioboh said the complainant reported that on that same date, the convict bit him all over his body, without having any misunderstanding with him.
During police investigation, he confessed to the crime, the prosecutor said.
The prosecutor also said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 246 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
