Abuja, July 1, 2017 (NAN) Nigeria’s Gift Willy on Saturday shot the day’s best round as Zimbabwean Visitor Mapwanya’s five-shot lead was reduced to three after day three of B & E tournament in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the pro tournament teed off on Thursday at the IBB Golf and Country Club and is expected to end on Sunday.
No less than 40 players from seven countries, namely Zimbabwe, Gabon, Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Spain took part in the first round of the four-day stroke play tournament.
Willy shot a level par 72, while Ghanian Vincent Torgah shot a 73 to close the gap to three and Pristhy Nji also shot a 73 to get within four of the leader.
NAN also reports that both Nji and Willy have improved on their previous rounds at the tournament.
The B & E tournament is expected to reach its climax on Sunday as the battle for top honors enters the final round.
The winner will walk away with a handsome cheque of 8,000 dollars.
