Lagos, June 28, 2017 (NAN) A 30-year-old woman, Ifeoluwa Adedeji, was on Wednesday charged before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly obtaining cartons of biscuit valued at N317,000 under false pretenses.

The trader, who resides at 25, Shoretire St., Orile Agege, in Lagos, is accused of obtaining the biscuit in January, at Iyana Ipaja.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, told the court that the accused collected the cartons of biscuit from the complainant, B2B Supermarket, promising to sell them and remit the proceeds into the company’s account.

“The accused sold those cartons of biscuit and failed to remit the money into the company’s account,” he said.

The offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015(Revised).

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni, granted the accused bail in the sum of N150, 000, with one surety in like sum.

Akanni adjourned the case until July 10 for mention. (NAN)
