Zaria (Kaduna State), June 22, 2017 (NAN) The Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, on Thursday expressed its determination professionalize and sanitize Nigeria’s transport sector.
The Director-General, Dr Aminu Musa-Yusuf, said this when Mr Abdulkadir Ahmed, the Assistant Corps Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Zaria Unit Command, paid him visit.
A statement issued by NITT’s spokesman, Mr Paul Mshelizah, in Zaria, quoted Musa-Yusuf as saying that the institute and FRSC share core values and ideals.
Musa-Yusuf said that safety and efficiency had always been NITT’s watchword.
He said NITT had identified the flyover, PZ, Kofan Doka as black-spots in Zaria and enjoined FRSC to bring its expertise to bear on such junctions.
The director-general enumerated areas of collaboration between FRSC and NITT to include curriculum development, staff exchanges, training and research, among others.
He commended FRSC for its cooperation with NITT Transport Data Bank and Driving School.
Earlier, Ahmed expressed satisfaction with the long standing mutual relationship between FRSC and NITT.
He said the purpose of the visit was not only to cement the already existing cordial working relationship between the two organisations but also to explore new areas of collaboration.
The commander said he was particularly impressed with the quality of NITT’s training programmes, adding that he would be a proud alumnus of NITT very soon.
Similarly, the institute’s Registrar, Malam Sule Bello, commended FRSC’s commitment and diligence in bringing safety to Nigerian roads.
Bello expressed optimism that the mutually beneficial relationship would grow from strength to strength. (NAN)
