Remand

Abuja, June 22, 2017 (NAN) A Gudu Upper Area Court, Abuja, on Thursday, ordered that two youths, Yahaya Usman and Ibrahim Ali, be remanded in prison custody for attempting to steal a car battery.
The Judge, Mr Umar Kagarko, ordered their remand till June 30 for conviction and sentencing, after they pleaded guilty to the offence of criminal trespass and attempt to commit theft.
Earlier, the Police Prosecutor, Fidelis Ogbobe, had told the court that the complainant, one Mr Innocent Gever of Garki II, reported the matter at Garki Police Station on June 18.
Ogbobe said that at about 4:p.m. on same date, the two boys, aged 19 and 20, criminally entered into the complainant’s compound to steal his car battery.
“In the process, they were caught and handed over to the police,’’ Ogbobe said.
He also said that during police interrogation, they could not give a satisfactory account of their action. (NAN)
